Can be used one or tow times maybe with the tape style glue they come with. The fake nail polish that comes with it is like some sort of soft clear glue. I think it's done to be complete safe and non toxic for kids. That is why I chose to use real clear nail polish.
Well, I just put a little top coat on one nail and then follow the simple instructions. Get the finger onto the small hole on top of the cotton candy part, press the button on the base of the toy and viola, the nail gets completely glittered. Tap off the excess and then continue with the other nail and so on. I love it because it's mess free. Wait about 15 to 20 minutes and rinse your hands with plain water or even with a mild soap to get rid of glitter on fingers.
The toy comes with a tiny bag of pink and iridescent glitter but I had some eye loose glitter and added it to the other. Worked wonderful. Use any color as a base or just wear the plain glitter. There are many glitter colors in beauty supplies.
Overall, I do recommend this toy for a pre-teen girl or any other person that loves glittered nails.
At first I thought the batteries were old because the sound that the toy makes is very low. So when I placed new batteries I found out they were fine. It is a very quiet toy as well. That is good. Perfect for slumber parties where girls like to stay up late.
Age? Package says 5+ but, I don't know. To me it's better for girls 10 and over. It is safe for a five year old but a good age to use it alone with no problem can be 10. My girl is 8 and I helped her. You need to be careful not to mess up the nail when you are pulling the finger out of the cotton candy part.
