She is just really getting into the princess phase and is also currently very interested in imaginative play, so this is a great toy for her. She uses Princess Aurora and the fairies the most, occasionally plays with the chair and vanity, and completely ignores the basket of flowers. I love that she is using her imagination and will spend lots of time having the various characters talk to one another and dance, sleep, etc.
The biggest "flaw" in the playset, in my opinion, is the inclusion of 2 small bottles that are meant to sit on top the vanity. One of them is less than 1/2 an inch long. My husband initially didn't even see them in the package, I found them on our carpet. I thought they were bits of the package, at first- they are that tiny. We got rid of them right away, but I don't feel like we are missing anything. They don't have any real "play value" except as a decoration, which is not how a 3 year-old plays anyway.
As young as my child is, she does need help with the clothes, but overall, we really enjoy this product. I would certainly recommend it for girls who enjoy princesses and imaginative play.
