I either bought this doll for myself or my parents gave it to me as a gift when it came out in Wal-Mart years ago; I have the African-American version. This is a gorgeous doll--I believe she looks like Vanessa Williams, and the dress and "picture-frame" box make her all the more stunning! I still have the doll in the box, so I can't comment on the durability or play-friendliness of this particular doll. However, I've played with Barbies since childhood and only had 1 accident--a Ken with a broken leg--so I don't see this doll having problems. Even though I plan to keep my Barbie in the box, I know she would be a joy to take out and dress. "Portrait in Blue Barbie" is absolutely beautiful and I would highly recommend her to anyone who likes Barbie!
