I bought this doll for my 3 and a half year old daughter who had been begging me for a month to have the Three Musketeers Barbie. I brought her to the store and she chose Viveca, the doll with the purple dress. We brought the doll home and opened it. My daughter was so excited. Five days later, my daughter has brought Viveca everywhere, including strapped to the front of her tricycle and to bed. She loves this doll. However, I have been a little disappointed with the doll. First of all, in the picture, it looks like she is wearing a beautiful dress, but this "dress" is actually a skirt that is open in the back and fastens with only one tiny piece of velcro (3 mm x 5 mm) at her waist. This velcro practically ripped off the first hour that we owned the doll and I had to re-sew the velcro to the dress with a needle and thread. This works, but now the velcro isn't as sticky so the skirt falls off periodically. Also, Viveca has purple legs which is strange, but my daughter says she is wearing tights and doesn't seem to care. You should also be aware that the "crown" is bolted to the top of the dolls head so that it slides up and down, making a mask. In other words, it is not removable, although I'm just waiting for it to come out of her head as it seems like it will before years end. Lastly, each Musketeer doll comes with a cute little sword. My daughter was very excited about this as it fits in the doll's hand and the doll can hold it by herself. However, I'm disappointed to report that within 4 hours of play after receiving the doll, the sword snapped in half. I didn't see it happen but I can report that the sword is very thin. Mattel should have made it of thicker plastic so that it was more durable! Even though the sword is now a dagger and the skirt/cape falls off periodically, my daughter still is enamored with the doll and she hasn't even seen the movie yet!
