(More customer reviews)This doll just arrived at my son's house, which is where my 18 month old great-granddaughter lives. I live 200 miles away from my son's family so I had to call to find out how the baby liked this doll. I was anxious because Kaylee, my great-granddaughter, and her older cousin (4 years old) fought all the time over her cousin's baby doll. They both have lots of dolls, but the one her cousin has is the only one either one ever wanted to play with. It broke my heart the last time I visited to see them fight over that one doll. And Kaylee being only 18 months old did not understand why she could not play with this doll. So I got here on Amazon and tried to find another doll that looked just like it. I had told the cousin that I was sending one like hers to the baby. At first she did not like the idea that I was sending Kaylee a doll like hers, but once I made the statement that they would have twins, she thought this was "cool"! I must have looked at the 800 dolls they had on Amazon before picking this one out--it was hard to find one like the other one since I didn't have it before me to compare them. Mostly I remembered that the other one was soft-stuffed, and had no hair (a rubber head)--and both girls preferred that the doll be naked! So when I called, my daughter in-law told me that the doll had just arrived and that the baby really liked it--she was carrying it all over the house and had tried to feed it. I asked if Kaylee had taken all its clothes off and she said that the only thing she had removed was the hat! She did not like a hat on her doll. Hopefully when the newness wears off the doll she will still like it as much as she did today and there won't be any more fighting over dolls between her and her cousin. One thing that is a plus, the cousin is not going to fight her over the new doll because she does not like dolls that talk. When you press the left hand of the doll, it says something like "mama" my daughter in-law told me. She also told me that this doll is a little bigger than the cousin's doll and does not look just like it, but it looked somewhat like it. I am hoping that Kaylee continues to love this doll. I couldn't really evaluate how long this doll is going to hold up as far as quality goes, because Kaylee has only had it a few hours. And I can't really tell you if this doll is educational or not, because as far as I know the only thing it does is say "mama" and Kaylee already knows how to say Mama. In a few months after Kaylee has had this doll awhile and after I have been back for a visit, I will post an update and tell you more how this doll held up and if there were any problems with it. So far, all is well!
