(More customer reviews)I purchased this doll for my 3-year-old daughter for Christmas, and I have to say, I'm really impressed. It's amazing to hear it say your child's name! You can also program it with three other names that Dora will incorporate into the things she says, which I love. She really does "know" every name you can think of! My son's name is Benson, and I thought we'd probably have to settle for Dora saying "Benny," but no! Even Benson was on her list! My husband is a product design engineer, and even he was super impressed by the features of this doll. They really did think of everything--you can even program it while it's still in the box! Yes, I think it's kind of a pain that Dora can't remember more and that I'll have to reprogram her twice a week or so, but to see your daughter's face on Christmas morning when she hears Dora say her name will be priceless!
NOTE FOR PARENTS PROGRAMMING THE DOLL ON CHRISTMAS EVE WHEN FISHER-PRICE IS CLOSED: When I installed the drivers for this doll on my computer that runs Windows XP, I received an error message from Microsoft saying the software hadn't been tested by Microsoft for compatibility with Windows XP and that I shouldn't install it or it might make my computer unstable, susceptible to a virus, etc. I called Fisher-Price's customer service, and they told me the software was tested by their engineers and that it's completely safe. They told me to click "continue" to install the software. I just thought I'd pass the tip along!
Again, this doll is SO unqiue! It's definitely the hot, must-have toy for Christmas!
UPDATE FOR PARENTS HAVING TROUBLE INSTALLING THE DOLL'S SOFTWARE: I have read other reviewers saying this doll keeps giving the error message that it's not connected to the computer when it is. The doll is not defective--it goes back to the comments I made above about installing the drivers. To fix this problem, you just uninstall the drivers using the "control panel" on the start menu, and then you reinstall the drivers and make sure Windows XP knows it's okay to install the software even though Microsoft hasn't tested it. I, too, got the error message that the doll wasn't connected when it was because when I installed the drivers the first time, I stopped the installation process when I received the Microsoft error message. To fix the problem, just uninstall the drivers and install them again, making sure to accept the installation despite the error message. I hope that helps!

(More customer reviews)I have been a Barbie collector for 25 years and was not terribly keen on My Scene, just didn't appeal to me...until this one. This Lindsay Lohan doll is absolutely exquisite, and it looks JUST LIKE HER. The detail is astonishing, and she comes with a huge assortment of accessories and looks absolutely beautiful in her box, so I bought 2, one to look at and one to "play" with. Although I purchase many Barbies, there are a special few I adore, and this is definitely one of them. I couldn't believe the quality and the presentation; I have never seen such a great looking package and box...and it is really large and somewhat heavy. You must see this doll in person and see for yourself how incredible the overall quality is; any serious collector and/or any little girl would love to add her to their collection. I can only imagine how a little girl would react to receiving her for a birthday present! I know I would have been thrilled...the child still inside me certainly is! Mattel has done it again.

My Scene Chillin Out Chelsea Doll Review

(More customer reviews)I've collected Barbies for about 16 years now (and played with them for about 28 years), and all that I can say about My Scene dolls is that they are Incredible! At first, I couldn't get used to the fact that Barbie had such a different look, and such different friends. But, when I was a kid there was PJ, then in the 80's there was Whitney and the Rockers etc., then in the 90's Midge and Christie and Teresa as well as the generation girls. I like how Barbie reinvents herself for each generation,and this is seriously the best yet!
Now to the actual review of this particular doll...Chelsea and Nolee are my favorites, and this doll does not disappoint in its beauty, its lovely face paint and hair. The clothes and accessories are, for a lack of a better word, "Awesome"! This is the most realistic I have EVER seen a Barbie since the glory days of the 60's. It's padded jacket actually has a padded lining! The baseball-styled shirt is very cool. I don't like the mountain girl leggings, but HEY! they're removable. She has a cute pair of boots, as well as the skiing boots which fit PERFECTLY into the skis. The ski poles are an exact fit for posing her as if she is on the slopes...I have wanted a ski doll for about 10 years, but have not found an accurate one- until now. Perfect! Thanks, Mattel!!!
