(More customer reviews)Fans of DC Comics will want to add this "Black Label Barbie" to their collections. The adult fans, anyway. As the box states, The Black Label Barbies are "Sensational dolls designed for the adult collector." Not that this Black Canary Barbie is really offensive, but obviously some parents wouldn't want their young girls playing with a Barbie dressed in fishnets. For the record, the recommended age rating on the box is 14+
I happen to be an adult fan of comics, so this one is perfect for me. I actually can't attest to the true durability of this specific doll as it went straight to the shelves in its box, but hey, it's Barbie -- by now we all know how well they hold up. Of course, I'm also assuming that many others will also be buying it for its collectible factor and yes, it'll hold up well so long as you handle the box with care -- that plastic will show scratches easily as it is just a plastic box with a cardboard backing.
As for the back of the box, it gives you Black Canary's life story, in quick paragraph format.
The front of the box has the Black Canary words as a cardboard cutout firmly attached to the plastic.
The doll itself looks just as it's represented in the pictures on Amazon.

The costume is nicely done (with shorts in place of Wondy's more revealing panties) and some glitter has been added to her belt and chest emblem. The face on this dolls looks gorgeous too! She looks beautiful like Wonder Woman should! Meant for kids but collector's won't be able to keep their hands off this one!

(More customer reviews)Hi, This bat girl barbie is beautfull! However I did not get the blue stand, I got a black stand (And thats fine by me!) With the yellow bat logo. The doll is very pretty I LOVE her red hair! The bendy arms dont bother me then Batgirl can do pretty poses. I also have the wonder women doll and you should get her to! My fave is defintley Batgirl tho. And I dont know why people want sick Ken to be batman. that whould be SO ugly! He would NOT make a good batman doll. My mom bought me the poison ivy barbie and the poison ivy barbie was twice the size as my Batgirl barbie! We are going to return it. My mom said mattel is trying to copy sick brats dolls and its true! They made poison ivy not have a barbie ''face'' at all!she had this icky face its hard to explain tho... Overall this barbie is a must have! I would go to a store to get her tho cause at the store shes cheaper. (And im not even counting shipping!) Well I better go now so bye! -Jackie

(More customer reviews)i love them they are so cute in person. at the price i could see no good reason not to buy. i am very happy i did buy them i have alot of the dc comic dolls this fits in very well. the other thing is i have tip my hat to Mattel they came in a nice acrylic box perfect for displaying. all i had to do is wrap them in clear plastic wrap and put on the shelf.

Barbie As Supergirl Review

(More customer reviews)When my sister got this doll out of the box, she was so excited because she had finally finished collecting the whole D.C. Doll Series(Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Catwoman, Supergirl), but only to find out that this doll was poorly done. She started playing with her hair, very gently, and hair plugs went missing! Within 5 minutes out of her box, the Supergirl doll had more than six missing hairplugs! Strands of hair just kept coming off. We were all surprised because Mattel has always made quality products and this had never happened. All the other dolls had come out fine, it was just this doll that came with defects. My sister was sad, and my mom decided to buy her another one because the doll was missing a lot of hair and probably could not be returned. So when she got her 2nd Supergirl doll, she also came with defects. The shirt was kind of small, and very tight and hard to put back on. The hair did not come as defected as the first doll, but it still has hairs coming off when her hair gets combed or a little pull. A BIG DISSAPOINTMENT.

DC Stars 2010 17" Power Girl Deluxe Dressed Doll (LE 500) Review

(More customer reviews)This is a high quality DC Superheroes doll from Tonner. It is fully articulated so it can be posed in any number of positions.
Power Girl looks MUCH better in person than she does in the pictures. Her short hair is carefully styled and her features look much softer and more natural in real life. Her thick satin bustier is accompanied by a matching shoulder capelet and she has glimmery blue boots and gloves.
In all, if you like the character from the comics, I think you'll really like her. She's so much better in person than the pictures.

My dtr has taken the facemask off several times and I fear the next time she removes it, it may tear. Other than that we are very pleased with this item.

Robert Tonner Poison Ivy Deluxe Review

(More customer reviews)In addition to the Harley Quinn, we purchased the Poison Ivy Deluxe. Like Harley Quinn, she's just a big different than the comic/animated series.
Ivy has a full head of red ringlets that are quite striking. I especially like how the leaves are woven into the hair and stay put as if they belong there (appropriate for Ivy). The hair doesn't mess and she displays beautifully. Her skintones throughout her body are green and the costume is the right mix of quality and materials.
The things I nitpick about the doll is that her gloves never stay on correctly and the boots and gloves are perhaps a bit too shiney - they look a bit cheap compared to the dress and hair.
As with the Harley Deluxe, Ivy is fully articulated. She is a large doll - nearly twice as big as a Barbie doll and much wider. As such, she makes a striking display and feels more like a figure than a doll.
The face sculpt is quite lovely but she definitely tends more towards the Uma Thurman Ivy rather than the animated series or comics (which is a shame).
In all, a beautiful doll and a very striking display. The series also features a Joker that feels very much pulled from the comics - and he doesn't blend as well with Ivy and Harley as a result (he's a bit too cartoony compared to their reality-inspired features). That said, I am very happy with my purchase and can easily recommend this to Batman collectors.

DC Comic Barbie Doll: Poison Ivy Review

(More customer reviews)Another gorgeous Comic Book Barbie! This is so far my favorite out of the "Pink Box" line of Comic Barbies (DC Direct's CatWoman gets #1!). The thick, wavey bright red hair is so soft & beautiful and the face sculpt & paint are awesome (look at those sinister eyebrows)! The costume is absolutely fabulous, and as another comment said, the BOOTS are to die for!!
Why do I say she is "tacky"? It's in reference to her actual body: she's ALL tacky skinned bendy body. Gross. I don't know about the rest of the adult collectors, but I just can't stand that bendy body & it's tacky surface. I have cats, and the fur just clings to the "skin"! So, I removed the head, and put it on another Barbie body with the same skin tone (not easy to find since Poison Ivy is very fair skinned). That's when I found out that her outfit will ONLY fit on the bendy body with 2 exceptions: 1. Teen Skipper/ Francie- but the boots won't fit their feet; 2. Belly Button body with hard plastic legs (like the Catwoman Barbie). I had to go buy a Delancey on Vespa doll just to get a hard-plastic body with enough of a light complection to both match the head and fit the suit... and the suit still stretched a bit going on that!
Also, the stand that comes with the doll does not hold her up properly. I had to steal a stand from a Fashion Fever doll to make Ivy stand up.
So, unless you like the full bendy-body type Barbies, and you don't mind it laying around & getting dust bunnies stuck to it, be prepared to do some work to make your Poison Ivy "user friendly". Or, leave her in the box for display :D

(More customer reviews)If you're a collector of the "Barbie as..." dolls (e.g. Wonder Woman, Marilyn Monroe, etc.) then this doll will be right up your alley. The people who have gotten the vapors over the doll's outfit need to relax. The doll has more clothes on than any of the beach-themed Barbies, for pity's sake!
The costume is a good representation of the one worn by Ms. Berry in the movie. If you wouldn't take your child to see this movie, you shouldn't buy the doll. It's that simple.
If you saw the prototype doll on Halle Berry's website (that most definitely looks like her) and were interested in purchasing that, don't get this doll. You'll be disappointed.(What happened, Mattel?)

Barbie as Batgirl on Motorcycle Review

(More customer reviews)First of all, potential buyers of this toy set should know that the manufacturer's description listed above in inaccurate: This doll does not have the "bendy" body that the individually issued Batgirl Barbie has. This doll has more of an "action figure" body made from hard plastic. Another difference is this doll's head is on a ball-joint, so she can look forward while posed on the Batcycle. In general, this doll is more posable than the other version, and her joints have a larger range of motion. Also, her boots are not split up the back like the other doll's; therefore the boots will stay on nicely during play.
The Batcycle itself is pretty fantastic as well. The bike has several moving parts and perfectly supports the doll in a riding position.
The set makes a terrific display piece, but I am betting kids will love it as much as collectors. Mattel has really made an impressive toy with this set! And you can't beat amazon.com's price!
