She is very differant looking for a African, like her long hair and green eyes. But again what is wrong with looking differant. If all barbie dolls looked the same it would not be fun collecting them. She is beautiful with her big earings and necklace. Her dress is the best part with the African prints. I have been looking for a long time to find an African doll for my collection. But now I have I got her and she is so beautiful and looks so good with my 15 dolls of the world barbies.

I really wanted to get the DOTW Princess of India, but was unable to find her so when I saw Diwali Barbie I knew I had to get her.
I love the dolls of the World Collection, I also like watching Indian Movies (Bollywood), personally she looks like those typical Indian Actresses on Indian movies, another reason why I bought her, this doll definitely looks like Bollywood Actress Ashwarya Rai, Anyways back to the review, she has beautiful light greyish side glancing eyes , she has very cute jewellery on her and her sari is just so cute, the designer of this doll really did a good job on her. My only con is that she doesn't look like the doll on the picture on the card, she is beautiful anyway, she comes complete with stand, collector card and Certificate of Authenticity.

The Denver person is wrong, the majority of chinese people are not dark skinned if they are it is because their skin have been tan. I should know because I'm chinese. I just got this doll yesterday and I think her face does look like most chinese people you will see in HK or Shanghai. Her hair and shoes are a little strange. I've never seen traditional hair styles like this before. Her shoes are not the kind of shoes worn with a traditional Mandarin dress. Overal I think she is worth the $20 bucks.

On the first day of the First Moon of the lunar calendar, the most important celebration in China begins. Homes are decorated with paper banners adorned with happy wishes, pretty flowers and platters of oranges and tangerine. At midnight on Chinese New Year's Eve, fireworks fire and the festival begins.
One of the most wondrous spectacles of the festival is the dragon dance. Many people carry long silk dragons, dancing in procession as musicians play gongs and drums. A happy celebrant is dressed in a silky red gown decorated with yellow flowers and a phoenix, a symbol of happiness and joy. Flowers and butterflies, symbols of long life and beauty, are in her upswept hair. She is very happy to receive the gift of a red Lai-See Envelope. Doll measures 12" tall.

Barbie Collector Dolls Of The World Carnaval Barbie Doll Review

Barbie Collector Dolls Of The World Carnaval Barbie Doll

First of all I would like to say that I am about to give ya'll fact not opinion. I was offened by the fact that people are forgeting that this doll is about a culture much differant from American culture. This is about foreign people celebrating the pride they have in African ancestory and being of both African and Brazilian descent I know this well. This doll Is a beautiful representation of her people.
More conservative people I don't recomend this for you and/or your child(this is about a culture not an image).
This is a great peice of merchandice to and diversity to a collection or to start a collection. For me, my collection is having dolls that represent the cuture of my anscetors so having a doll like this would be like finding a ruby out thousands of diamonds and saphires.

One brown-eyed beauty enters the throng, ready to party! With pure joy, she joins the dancers and moves to the rhythms of the samba - a delirious mixture of African and Portuguese music. Instruments blare as people sing along the the incessant drum beats. This is the carnaval she will never forget. Barbie Carnaval is dressed in a detailed purple and pink outfit. Barbie Dolls of the Word: Octoberfest Barbie Doll Review

This doll beautifully depicts lovely German beer waitress girls. The outfit mirrors authentic German attire, the face & hair style show a true German look. She is very beautiful too. I was very excited to find that they had made an Oktoberfest doll and it was well worth the [...] spent for it. I play the European accordion, and I was thrilled to see a picture of an accordion on the box. More people in America need to start playing the accordion...it is a lovely instrument, but it is definitely not as popular as it once was. This doll is very nice and in my opinion it is a good collectible piece.
