(More customer reviews)My grandmother had a doll rather like this one when she was a child. As a kid, we grand-daughters would take turns carefully holding her before Grandma would wind her up once, then gently put her back in the glass china cabinet while she was still playing her tune. This doll is small (around 9 inches) and is a little bigger than an adult hand. Her body is actually a rectangular music box with a winding key in her mid back. Her clothing, especially her bloomers, hides this well though. Her head does rock back and forth gently to the music (when it plays) in a way that mesmerizes my 6 year old. My 9 year old (who it is for) is very proud of it and has been carrying it around. It is a little sturdier than it looks and is cuter in real life than the photo suggests. I would not recomend it for younger children (like my six year old) but if you are into collectables, or have a rather mature child who is (such as my 9 year old), then this doll is a find! She is well worth the price!
