(More customer reviews)I am so in love with Monster High. It started with the plush Monster High Friends dolls and it quickly ballooned from there.
I bought this version of Clawdeen Wolf after I had received my Basic Clawdeen Wolf. I am a collector AND user. I buy the dolls and photograph them out of the box. I love her dress, especially since it reminds my father of some of the outlandish outfits from the 1980s, namely a purple leather jumpsuit worn by Eddie Murphy in one of his movies in the 80's. Of course, I remember wearing outlandish clothing.
The doll's hair, and the questionable choice of packaging a brush with the doll, are an issue for some. The doll's hair has been heavily stiffened with a shellac that is commonly used to keep hairstyles stiff on dolls. If you were planning on brushing doll hair, you may be disappointed. I, however, don't fool around with doll hair that often, so it's a non-issue for me. The doll also comes with paper goods that add to the illusion that the user is part of the monster children's universe (i.e. invitation and photos), doll-sized iCoffin (an iPhone parody that fits with the movie\book monster universe) and a doll-sized clutch purse.
The fun value is great because the doll can be displayed on its stand or played with. The educational value of this toy is a bit sparse but really hits a home run on the "embrace your flaws and the flaws of others" lessons we've been instilled with and we instill in the children today. The durability of this doll is strong. I haven't dealt with breakage.
I hope you find this review helpful, for I enjoy playing with dolls and have done so for the past 21 years (I'm turning 24 this October).
