(More customer reviews)I bought this for my daughter for her birthday - this line of mermaid stuff was all she asked for. She loves it and plays with it in the tub and also in the pool. She mostly plays with the doll, but occasionally she will bring out the lilypad part and play with it. Great toy!

Barbie Mermaid Swim 'N Play Playset Review

(More customer reviews)This toy has 6 large suction cups on the back that hold it fairly securely to tiled surfaces. It comes with several levels - a top chair for the small mermaid (color changing in water) that comes with the set, a little shower area that you can make work with a small pumping lever, a slide, and a bottom trough that holds water. It also comes with a seashell that you can use to scoop up water to put in the shower area - the area has a small hole at the bottom and water flows through there across flower spinners and catches in the trough at the bottom. There's also a swing for the normal sized merliah doll (which doesn't come with the set).
The shell scoop is a great idea - fun to play with on its owner or to use with the set. There is a lot for the little mermaid to do but not much for a regular sized barbie. The large swing is set up so it can sit the flexible and non-flexible tailed Barbies (the 'co star' mermaid doll does not bend at all, for example).
In all, my daughter really loves it. We have to prop it up, though, since we have a free-standing bathtub with wood walls (no tiles). So keep in mind that it doesn't stand up on its own and you'll need a riled wall above the bathtub.

(More customer reviews)After a few days of listening to my daughter on how wonderful this would be, I decided to buy it for her. The main problem is the slide does not stay on-- not even for a short amount of time, so that is a complete waste. The suction cups do not stick well to the tile surrounding our tub, but it does stick to the tub itself wonderfully. (Though this makes for an incredibly low toy so you can't use many of the features as they are underwater.)
My daughter LOVES the little pink mermaid that came with, which is the redeeming feature, but she is disappointed in the rest of it. I won't be buying anything like this again-- it really is a waste of money... just buy the mermaids for your little girl, the rest is junk.
