(More customer reviews)This is a very pretty and intricate doll. We purchased it 3 years ago when my daughter was only a few months old. We wanted to start a collection for her(that she'll not know about until she's old enough to not want them out of the packages. I don't know when that will be, as I'd like to take them out!) We wanted to get in on the ground floor of a series. THis was 1st in a series. A series that they do not plan on continuing aparently. I E-mailed them(MATTEL) a year ago and they replied that no 2nd was even in the works at that time. I was very dissapointed as being the first in a series was our reason for purchasing. Two series started that year, Birthday and Nursery Rhyme. WE got both. At least the birthday series continued.(These two were the only ones we found with the boxes saying first in a series) Just wanted to let collectors in on this info.

Come with Barbie in this famous nursery rhyme as she and her little white lamb go off to school. Look, you can see the school and other children in the distance. Barbie looks so pretty in her enchanting outfit and spectator shoes. Her adorable blue satin jacket is trimmed in lace and has pearly buttons that match her jewelry. Her overskirt has a petty pink ribbon bow that matches the bow on her jacket. And even her little lamb has a pink bow! No wonder Barbie doll's lamb loves her so!

Topsy Turvy Doll Princess Dusk to Dawn Review

(More customer reviews)I had a few of these type dolls when I was a kid but they weren't this large. The true measurements of the Princess Dusk to Dawn doll is 16" tall by 15" wide. My dolls were about 10" tall. I thought this was kind of pricey but once I saw it, the price made more sense. Very good quality.

Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf Barbie Giftset Review

(More customer reviews)This is a lovely doll for the adult collector - lots of detail sewn into the outfit and a beautiful modern face paint. I love that Mattel chose to do a modern gothic line of dolls - sexy and mysterious.
As with most of the Barbie Collector dolls, she has solid legs that are not bendable. Since she's meant for display and not play, that's fine. These dolls are meant to be displayed on a stand. But unlike the cheap barbies, the legs aren't holly and don't knock around.
The quality of her costume is amazing. She has a raw musline undershirt/chemise with lace edging at the collar. The 3/4 sleeves are also capped with black lace and delicate ribbons matching the garters on her stockings. A black velvet corset has lovely lace up ribbons that are tied at the top in a bow. I really like that the ribbons are scale-appropriate for the size of the doll. She has a very interesting puffy skirt with tartan details. The skirt is sewn to the musline undershirt/bodysuit and not really meant to be removed for play. Over the outfit is the fourth layer - a red cape with a rolled up hood. Interestingly, the hood doesn't open - it is rolled and stuffed. Her hair goes over the top of it. And, of course, she has the fishnets with lace at the top and red/black shoes. On the inside of her cape is a barbie collector label.
I think the only distraction is that the skirt does not fit well on my doll. It's too big and bulky.
Her hair is long in back with a loose curl at the ends. She comes with a basket full of goodies appropriate for a forest romp.
The wolf doll is about half the size and equally (if not better) made. I'm not a fan of the plastic head - I do wish it was a ken doll with a removable wolf mask. But other than the plastic (soft vinyl, really) head on the wolf, I really love this set.
As with ALL Barbie Collector dolls, it is intended (and priced) for the adult collector. And I think the adult collector will love her!

Barbie African-American Miss September Birthstone Beauties Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this barbie for my 10-year-old daughter. I also bought November birthstone barbie and June birthstone barbie for my other daughters. All are exquisite. My favorite is November because she has orange hair like my daughter's. The June barbie has similiar characteristics of my other daughter. I would have purchased the caucasian version of this barbie but it was nearly three times as much money. Judging from the picture, the african american version had a beautiful appearance, and the picture was not deceiving. She is very pretty. I love all of them, and especially since I bought them all for $13.99, I think they are really a nice purchase. They are packaged very nicely too.

(More customer reviews)I have been a Barbie collector for over twenty years, and this is one of the most innovative and exciting new designs I have ever seen. She is literally breathtaking; very mod and avant garde, and arrives in a unique box shaped like a triangle, with a modern background printed on the box. She has shocking orange hair, beautiful make-up and her eyes are actually round and protrude slightly from her face just like a real person's. She is carrying a notebook PC and briefcase in one hand and a tiny cell phone in the other. She looks capable of running an office and has a professional executive attitude, from her fashion to her accessories. Barbie has undergone many transformations over the years, but this is one of the most innovative, unique and exciting looks she has ever had, and I hope to see more of this style barbie. So beautiful I bought two of her, one to "play" with and one for display, which she does wonderfully in her triangular box. She exemplifies what women are capable of in the professional world...good "role model" and a positive image for little girls.
